How to use The Word Works Submission Manager:

If you have already submitted to us electronically before, you do not need to fill out this form again.
Please login using the form on the left.

We are currently accepting submissions for The Washington Prize (deadline March 15). There is a $25 reading fee for each manuscript submitted.

NOTE: Two important details about submitting online.

• All manuscripts are read anonymously. Therefore, please DO NOT INCLUDE any identifying information (i.e. NO NAME, bio or acknowledgments page) in the manuscript you submit. Don’t worry; Submission Manager keeps your identifying information permanently linked to your manuscript, and you may copy acknowledgments or bio into the COMMENTS field.
• There will be a link to Paypal. If you cannot use Paypal, please contact Nancy White at editor@wordworksbooks.org to make other arrangements. Also, please do not be alarmed by any security warnings you see; we rely on the security of Paypal rather than taking payments directly. Nowhere in our site is your payment information seen, registered, or stored.

• To create an account, fill in all of your contact information, below. If you are submitting work for someone else, fill in your contact info and fill in the name of the person you are submitting for in the "writer name" field.
• Fill in the title of the manuscript you are submitting. If you are submitting multiple works, please submit each one separately. You do need to pay the reading fee for each manuscript submitted.
• Make sure your manuscript includes front matter but NOT any identifying information such as name, address, email, or acknowledgments page. Our editors or judges will see your complete collection, but will have no author information.
• Use the browse button to find the file on your computer that you would like to submit. Select the file and click on the open button. Your file will then appear in the "file" field.
• If you wish, you can fill in the comments field with any additional information you’d like to send, then click submit. We always like to hear where you heard about the press or what source you use to keep track of submission deadlines.
• You will then have the option to review your information and confirm that it is correct. Hit continue and you’re done sending us your entry.
